Uzbekistan was able to establish a road corridor to South Asia through Afghanistan. This was announced today during the Innoprom exhibition in Tashkent by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
According to him, the states of Central Asia and Russia have huge joint opportunities for cooperation and entering the markets of other regions, including large ones, for example, South Asia.
“We are now very actively working in Uzbekistan on direct physical access to the markets of South Asia. For example, our trade turnover with Pakistan has recently doubled. Goods are delivered by land through the territory of Afghanistan. Today, by road, we can deliver our products to Pakistan in two and a half days, to the port of Karachi – in four or four and a half days. This is an achievement that we have not had before,” he stressed.
