Workers of the Terektinsky mining and processing complex of Altai Polymetals LLP organized a gathering during which they complained about harassment, threats and mass layoffs at their enterprise. They also spoke about the misbehavior of the leadership, demanding his resignation and the opportunity to form a trade union, KazTAG reports.
“Yesterday, for example, a guy named Saken was fired, he worked for eight years. Why is the security service (SB) not monitoring the factory, but provoking the workers? For example, they come into the room, walk [to the junction] like this, are they looking for a reason for conflict? SB won’t let us work. They must leave. Security Council is not even subordinate to the CEO. We need a change of leadership, we need those who will treat us humanely. There were times when there were leaders who could drink tea with us, and these set themselves up in such a way that they were perceived as enemies, ”the workers said at the gathering.
