Azerbaijan reduced production of gasoline by 28 percent year-on-year to 247,400 tonnes, jet fuel by 29.4 percent to 103,500 tonnes and diesel fuel by 1.7 percent to 550,500 tonnes in the first quarter of 2021, the State Statistics Committee said.
The committee said that the production of naphta increased by 64.9 percent to 108,000 tonnes.
In monetary terms, the total output of oil products decreased by 13 percent year-on-year to 810 million manats ($477 million).
Crude is processed at the Baku Oil Refinery, which produces 15 different petroleum products, including gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, naphta, petroleum coke, and others. The sole refinery in the oil-rich country meets the nation’s entire demand for petroleum products and exports 45 percent of its petroleum products.
According to the statistics committee, 36,000 tonnes of gasoline, 2,000 tonnes of naphta, 40,900 tonnes of jet fuel, 106,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, 10,400 tonnes of fuel oil, and some other products had been stocked in the refinery’s warehouses as of April 1.
