Azerbaijan’s positive trade balance was $1.607 billion in the first quarter of 2021, 2.4 percent up from the same period last year, the State Customs Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $6,668 billion, 2.6 percent lower than in the first three months of 2020.
Exports equalled $4.138 billion, down 1.6 percent from January-March 2020, while imports stood at $2.531 billion, 4 percent lower than in the same period last year.
The country’s main exports were products of the oil and gas sector, while main imports were equipment and spare part, food products and vehicles.
Azerbaijan’s main export countries in January-March were Italy, Turkey and India. Main import countries were Russia, Turkey and China.
