Banks in Azerbaijan reported a net profit of 148.8 million manats as of April 1, 8.7 percent less than a year ago, the country’s central bank said.
Total assets of banks reached 32.5 billion manats, 1.5 percent up from the beginning of this year.
Total liabilities increased by 1.1 percent from January 1 and amounted to 27.7 billion manats as of April 1.
The loan portfolio of banks reached 14.4 billion manats, up 1.4 percent from the beginning of this year.
The total capitalization of banks rose by 4.2 percent from January 1 to 4.9 billion manats.
The volume of deposits amounted to 21.1 billion manats, 1.5 percent up from the beginning of 2021. Deposits of individuals declined by 0.4 percent to 8.01 billion manats.
The capital of banks since the beginning of the year has grown by 3.1 percent to 4.9 billion manats.
There are 26 banks in Azerbaijan, including 12 with foreign capital.
