President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Ashgabat. After a warm welcome at the Ashgabat international airport, the Uzbek leader headed to the Oguzhan Presidential Palace Complex. The President of Turkmenistan welcomed the distinguished guest at the central entrance to the complex, official state agency Turkmenistan Today reported.

As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted during the conversation that took place later, the Turkmen-Uzbek ties that traced back centuries were based on the bonds of friendship and centuries-old traditions of good neighborliness.

 Expressing condolences over the death of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s father, the head of the friendly state wished the leader of Turkmenistan and his family members patience and fortitude in this difficult time.
