Azerbaijan exported non-oil products worth $501.5 million in the first quarter of 2021, 16.4 percent more than in the same period last year, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications reported.
According to the center, the bulk of exports fell on raw cotton – $68.6 million, followed by gold – $43.2 million, persimmon – $31.9 million, peeled hazelnuts – $28.5 million, polypropylene – $26.8 million and low-density polyethylene – $21.7 million.
The top five countries for the import of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products were Turkey – $163.1 million, Russia – $129.8 million, Switzerland – $44.7 million, Georgia – $38 million and the United States – $18.3 million.
In 2020, the volume of non-oil exports of Azerbaijan amounted to $1.9 billion, 5.2 percent less than in 2019.
The country’s Economy Ministry projects that Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports will amount to about $4 billion by 2026.
