Kazakhstan will introduce a six-month restriction on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel and a number of oil products, including light ones, outside the republic, Turan reported, citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This is done to prevent a shortage of petroleum products in the domestic market.

According to Turan, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan adopted a joint order “On some issues of export of oil products from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, which provides for the introduction of a six-month ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel and certain types of oil products from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan by road.

Lubricating oils are an exception.

An exception is export in gas tanks provided by the manufacturer for automobile vehicles and installed in accordance with technical conditions, as well as in separate containers with a volume of no more than 20 litres. Earlier, a similar ban was introduced in November 2019 to exclude the facts of the formation of a shortage of fuels and lubricants. In April 2020, the ban was lifted.
