Tbilisi City Court, “United National Movement”, the Melia ‘s court, is underway.

At today’s trial Melia ‘s imposed imprisonment related to the change will be discussed.

Defendant Nika Melia himself is not present at the hearing , as he was expelled from the courtroom for contempt of court by a judge.

The prosecutor’s office applied to the court to change the detention. The prosecution is requesting a change of the 40,000 GEL bail imposed on Nika Melia as a measure of restraint.

Nika Melia ‘sbail – 40 000 GEL was paid by the European Union two days ago. The money was allocated by the European Endowment for Democracy and handed over to the government by the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association.

For reference, the chairman of the United National Movement, Nika Melia, was sentenced to imprisonment on February 17 as a measure of restraint. The decision was upheld by the Tbilisi City Court on April 13.
