Georgia’s trade deficit at $1.5 bln in January-April-Statistics Office
Georgia’s trade deficit was $1.531 billion in the first four months of 2021 compared with $1.461 billion in the same period in 2020 and $1.131 billion in the first quarter of this year, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $3.929 billion, 12.8 percent more than in the first four months of 2020. In January-March 2021 the trade turnover was $2.774 billion.
Exports equalled $1.999 billion, 19.6 percent up from January-April 2020, while imports stood at $2.730 billion, 10.1 percent more than in the same period last year.
The country’s trade deficit in 2020 was $818.6 million, up from $790 million in 2019.
