Azerbaijan reduced gold production by 5.1 percent year-on-year to 32,000 ounces in January-April, the State Statistics Committee said.

Silver production rose by 14.4 percent to 32,400 ounces in the first four months of 2021.

The mined gold was transferred to enterprises in Switzerland for enrichment.

Extraction of precious metals in Azerbaijan is carried out by two companies – London-listed Anglo Asian Mining, a joint venture with the state, and a state-owned AzerGold.
