The issue of creating a new railway corridor was discussed at a video meeting of the heads of railway departments and diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Iran, Turkmenportal reported, citing Turkmenistan: Golden Age reports.
The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (KSPP).
The new railway corridor is designed to provide container traffic to Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan through the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas and back.
According to experts, the transportation of containerized cargo from China, India and the countries of Southeast Asia through the port of Bandar Abbas will reduce the delivery time from 45 to 21 days.
