The law enforcement bodies treat a young man from the Derbent District of Dagestan as an organizer of the financing of terrorism. According to investigators, the suspect is caught in plans to join militants in Syria, the website Caucasian Knot reported.

The suspect is 23 years old, and he faces up to 20 years of imprisonment. According to the investigators’ version, in 2018 and 2019, the suspect organized a raising of 200,000 roubles for illegal armed groupings of an international terrorist organization.

In order to disseminate the information about the raising of money, the suspected young man used an account on a social media site and a certain Internet channel, the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports on its official website.
