The total number of mobile phone users in Uzbekistan rose 10.8 percent year-on-year to 26.9 million as of April 1, the State Statistics Committee said.

The indicator of the provision of the population with mobile communications is 72 units for every 100 people, it said adding that 24.7 million mobile phone users are individuals.

The number of mobile phone subscribers has increased by 5 million since 2019.

Uzbekistan has imported 628,000 mobile phones worth $45.4 million in the first four months of this year, the committee said. Around 70 percent of the total number were imported from China.
