A number of candidate countries for accession to the European Union, as well as member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), have joined the EU’s decision to ban Belarusian airlines from entering its airspace and airports, UNIAN reported.
This is stated in a joint declaration published today on the website of the European Council.
“The candidate countries of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Albania, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, which are members of the European Economic Area, join the decision of the European Council,” the statement said.
The ban applies to Belarusian aircraft of all types.
