The United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) donated $3.9 million to Uzbekistan for purchasing electric buses, the country’s Transport Ministry said.

The grant comes within the six-year project to introduce “green transport corridor” in the capital Tashkent aimed at improving the quality of the environment.

The project will be implemented by UNDP jointly with the Transport Ministry, the Tashkent municipality, the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection and other government bodies.
