Georgia inflation up 9.9% year-on-year in June-Statistics Office
Consumer prices in Georgia were up 0.7 percent in June from a month earlier after rising 0.7 percent in May and in comparison with 1.4 percent deflation in June 2020, the State Statistics Office said.
Annual inflation in June was a record 9.9 percent, up from 7.7 percent in May this year and up from 6.1 percent in June 2020.
Georgia’s National Bank targets annual inflation at 3 percent, but says that the country would exceed the target this year.
