The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia will discuss at a meeting on July 7 a three-year investment program of the American company “Contour Global” for the modernization of the Vorotan cascade of hydroelectric power stations belonging to it, ARKA reported.
As reported on the regulator’s website, the total cost of the investment program, calculated for 2021-2023, is AMD 10.254 billion.
According to the company’s application, in particular, 1.465 billion drams will be allocated to collect data and strengthen the dam and technical structures of the cascade, and 2.351 billion drams to improve environmental protection and technical safety systems. In addition, almost 4 billion drams in total will be spent on the modernization, restoration, reconstruction of various structures of the Tatev hydroelectric power station, another 2.675 billion drams – to replace the power transformers of the Shambskaya hydroelectric station.
The Vorotan HPP cascade consists of three power plants – Shamb, Tatev and Spandaryan, located on the Vorotan River in southern Armenia.
