The indicator of economic activity in Armenia, according to preliminary data, in January-June 2021 registered an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2020, the National Statistical Committee said, ARKA reported.
At the same time, in June this year, compared with June 2020, the indicator of economic activity increased by 8%, and compared to May 2021 – immediately by 12%.
According to the presented data, in January-June 2021, the volume of industrial production amounted to approximately 1,036,519.7 million drams, having increased by 2.1% compared to January-June 2020. At the same time, in June 2021 compared to June 2020, the indicator increased by 1.3%, and in June 2021 compared to May 2021, it decreased by 0.9%.
Growth in January-June 2021 was registered in all areas. The volume of construction in January-June 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 increased by 10.8% and amounted to 125,599.2 million drams. At the same time, in June 2021 compared to June 2020, the growth was 1.3%, and in June 2021 to May 2021 – 21.9%.
At the same time, the volume of the service sector (excluding trade) in January-June 2021 amounted to 861 736.9 million drams, which is 2.7% higher than in January-June 2020. At the same time, in June 2021 compared to June 2020, the indicator increased by 12%, and in June 2021 compared to May 2021 – by 3.9%.
During the reporting period, the turnover of the agricultural sector increased by 6.8% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 277,994.2 million drams.
