Georgia inflation up 11.9% year-on-year in July-Statistics Office
Consumer prices in Georgia were up 1.3 percent in July from a month earlier after rising 0.7 percent in June and in comparison with 0.5 percent deflation in July 2020, the State Statistics Office said.
Annual inflation in July was a record 11.9 percent, up from 9.9 percent in June this year and up from 5.7 percent in July 2020.
Georgia’s National Bank targets annual inflation at 3 percent, but says that the country would exceed the target this year.
