A parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismoilov met with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi in Tehran.

The Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran thanked the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his sincere congratulations on his victory in the elections. During the meeting, it was noted that such high attention and recognition will serve as an important factor in bringing relations between our countries to a new level.

During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the consistent development of multilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Iran, the further deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation in trade, economic, social and cultural spheres.

As Ibrahim Raisi stressed, Iranian official circles fully support the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to further strengthen good-neighborly relations with the countries of the region based on the principles of mutual respect, friendship and brotherhood, as well as ensuring regional security.
