In Bishkek, near the building of the Jogorku Kenesh, a rally was held against the dispatch of Kyrgyz military personnel to Kazakhstan as part of the forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
The protesters believe that the country should not support Kazakh President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, who asked the CSTO for help to resolve the protests.
Also, the activists demanded that the session of the parliament, where they will discuss the situation in Kazakhstan, be held openly. The dispatch of the Kyrgyzstanis was supposed to be discussed at a meeting on January 6, but the quorum was never assembled – and the meeting was postponed to January 7.
