he Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction (MEDRP) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the World Bank and the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) today held the last event in a series of 11 round tables on green economic growth and climate change. During the event, issues of developing state policy to accelerate the country’s transition to a “green” economy were discussed.
From August 2021 to February 2022, a series of meetings were held in Tashkent to promote a multilateral dialogue with the participation of interested representatives of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, ministries and departments, local authorities, leading national and international expert and scientific communities, international organizations and financial institutions, etc.
Within the framework of the events held, the state policy and priorities in the field of developing a green and energy-efficient industry and economy, measures to respond to climate change, attracting funding for green projects, as well as assisting the government in developing a roadmap to accelerate the transition to a green economy and adapt to climate change.
