On March 9, the Bishkek City Court changed the measure of restraint for activist and member of the Butun Kyrgyzstan party Mirlan Uraimov. He was detained in early February for a comment on social networks allegedly calling for a seizure of power.
The press service of the city court told Kloop that the court released Uraimov on bail.
Before the meeting , more than 50 supporters of Uraimov gathered in front of the Bishkek City Court. They were holding banners “Free Mirlan Uraimov!” and “The truth is on the side of the people!”.
After the meeting, Uraimov himself came out to the supporters and said that he had not made any appeals. He noted that “the truth will always come out.”
“The comment on my behalf is written quite differently. I didn’t write comments before, I just shared [publications],” he explained.
