In Kyrgyzstan, the activities of a criminal group that planned a violent seizure of power were suppressed. This was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security.
Earlier, it was reported that a group of people is planning to organize a violent seizure of power immediately after the parliamentary elections. The special services, according to the State Committee for National Security, received evidence of the activities of the group under the leadership, including of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh and former high-ranking officials.
According to investigators, after the results of the elections were announced, the group, counting on the support of a number of politicians (including the losers), planned to organize mass protests in Bishkek. And then – to provoke clashes with the security forces of the protesters and seize power.
To carry out their plans, the group gathered about a thousand aggressive young people. Intelligence agencies believe that they should have arranged riots and provocations.
