Azerbaijan increased electricity production by 7.7 percent year-on-year to 26 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2021, the State Statistics Committee said.

Thermal power plants increased electricity production by 7.9 percent year-on-year to 23.8 billion kWh, hydropower plants – by 19.8 percent to 1.244 billion kWh, solar plants – by 18.3 percent to 54.3 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 89 million kWh of electricity, 6.7 percent less than in 2020.
