Azerbaijan increased electricity production by 1.3 percent year-on-year to 8.383 billion kilowatt/hours in January-April, the Energy Ministry said.

Thermal power plants increased electricity production by 0.3 percent year-on-year to 7.652 billion kilowatt/hours, hydroelectric plants – by 28.1 percent to 427.7 million kilowatt/hours, solar plants – by 7.8 percent to 13.8 million kilowatt/hours. Wind power plant generated 29.9 million kilowatt/hours of electricity, 11 percent less than in January-April 2020.

Electricity imports to Azerbaijan amounted to 47.2 million kilowatt/hours, up 5.6 percent year-on-year.
