The list of preferential border settlements will be expanded in stages. Now it includes only 62 villages. This was announced by the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Arzybek Kozhoshev at a meeting on the implementation of the Law “On the status of the Batken region”.
He noted that not all border villages of the region were included in the list, as there are special conditions for their inclusion.
“This is a requirement of the law, all three conditions must be met. We want to reconsider this decision and, as a second stage, include other villages in need of preferences in the list. But in the Batken region there are villages where socio-economic indicators are an order of magnitude higher, benefits are not provided for them, but there will be other economic incentive mechanisms. Our main goal is to strengthen those villages that are located on the border and really need the help of the state. It will not be possible to do everything at once, especially since the situation has not been the best in the 12 years of the region’s existence. Most importantly, the ice has broken — the work has begun,” said Arzybek Kozhoshev.
