In Turkmenistan, supplying the population with flour and bread remains an acute problem. In the capital, there are huge queues for bread in the morning in front of grocery stores, but there is not enough bread for everyone. While the government is cutting subsidies on food rations without official notification, bread is becoming a staple food for a growing portion of the country’s population.
Buying bread and flour since the beginning of the year has become a real challenge for the people of the country. According to the latest reports from Azatlyk’s correspondents, queues for bread in Ashgabat have significantly increased in front of shops in recent days.
