The State Committee for National Security confirmed the detention of Mirlan Uraimov, a member of the Butun Kyrgyzstan opposition party. According to the intelligence service, he was detained under the article “Public calls for a violent seizure of power,” because he “distributed provocative materials on social networks, and there is evidence of this.”
The department confirmed that he was placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
In addition, the committee called on citizens “not to succumb to provocations and appeals in social networks,” which, according to the agency, “are aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation in the country.”
“This plays into the hands of the forces interested in destroying stability in Kyrgyzstan, given the challenges and threats that our state is facing today,” the State Committee for National Security said.
