Capital investment in Azerbaijan’s economy fall to $9.5 bln in 2021-Statistics Committee
Capital investment in Azerbaijan’s economy decreased by 8.2 percent year-on-year to 16.127 billion manats ($9.5 billion) in 2021, the State Statistics Committee said.
The decline was caused by restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
Investments decreased by 5.6 percent in the oil and gas sector and by 9.6 percent in the non-oil sector.
Over 65 percent of total investments, 10.537 billion manats, had been used for production purposes, while the rest was used for construction. Over 73 percent of total investments, 11.794 billion manats, were domestic funds, around 27 percent – foreign direct investments.
