On April 8, Minister of Energy and Industry Doskul Bekmurzaev signed an agreement on the construction of a 1,000-megawatt solar power plant in the Issyk-Kul region. Bekmurzaev announced this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the agreement was signed with two companies from China – Zhao Zhangang (CPID) and Gu Heiyun (CR20G).
“I also signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of a solar and hydroelectric power plant for 260 megawatts in the Issyk-Kul region with a representative of the Spanish energy company Ecoener,” the minister wrote.
Bekmurzaev added that one of the tasks of the ministry is to increase generating capacity, and for this, the department is going to fully use the potential of renewable energy sources.
“Foreign investors have appreciated our opportunities in the energy sector and are ready to invest in the development of infrastructure. We expect that the implementation of these projects will begin in the near future,” he said.
