CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas stated the need to help Tajikistan contain potential threats.
He said this today, January 20, at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, TASS reports.
“The CSTO Secretary General informed the deputies about the situation in the East European, Caucasian and Central Asian regions of the CSTO collective security and outlined the threats emanating from the territory of Afghanistan. Stanislav Zas stressed the need to assist Tajikistan in containing potential threats,” the statement says.
It is also noted that separately Zas informed the deputies about the results of the peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan. He said that there were no casualties among personnel, weapons and military equipment following its results.
