Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh recognised the measures taken by the Cabinet of Ministers to combat smog in Bishkek as insufficient. People’s deputies came to this conclusion on February 15 at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on the fuel and energy complex, subsoil use and industrial policy.
The press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported that during the meeting, the deputies heard information on the implementation of the parliamentary resolution “On measures to reduce air pollution in the city of Bishkek”, adopted on March 31, 2021.
Minister of Ecology Dinara Kutmanova said that three instructions from this resolution were executed, nine were partially executed and seven instructions were not executed. According to her, despite some measures taken, “air pollution in the capital persists.”
