Amid a shortage of flour and bread in Turkmenistan, dozens of private bakeries in Ashgabat were forced to stop working. As a result, hundreds of private sector workers were left jobless. Radio Azatlyk correspondent reported this from the Turkmen capital.
According to our correspondent, a week ago more than 30 private bakeries in Ashgabat stopped baking bread and bakery products.
Among them are three bakeries located on Aga Berdiev Street, two on Severnaya Street, as well as several bakeries on Makhtumkuli Street, the correspondent reports.
“At some enterprises, on average, 10 women worked. As a result of the closure of bakeries, hundreds of people were left without work and earnings, ”said an employee of one of the closed enterprises in an interview with our correspondent on October 18.
