Armenia has allowed duty-free import of no more than 6,400 electric vehicles during 2022.
According to the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, this is due to the entry into force of the relevant decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated April 16, 2022.
It is noted that this benefit affects only the specified number of cars and will not apply to vehicles imported after the limit has been exhausted. “In order to use it, after importing an electric car into Armenia, one should submit a customs declaration to the relevant customs authority,” the State Revenue Committee said.
Earlier, Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said that Armenia received a quota for 7,000 electric vehicles for the current year within the framework of the EAEU (a little less than 1,900 were imported last year). “We will distribute 6.4 thousand electric vehicles, leaving 600 quotas as a reserve for the import of new cars from dealers,” he said.
