Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov held talks with the Secretary-General of the International Energy Charter Urban Rusnak, UZ DAILY reported.
The head of the Energy Charter highly appreciated the international conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”, held in Tashkent.
Rusnak noted that an analysis of the progress of reforming the energy sector of Uzbekistan shows that the country is moving in this direction at a good pace, studying and adapting the best international experience, timely fulfilling the deadlines and obligations set in the adopted documents to update energy equipment, further develop generation, increase energy efficiency.
During the meeting, the recommendations of the energy efficiency charter based on international experience were discussed, which will contribute to the preparation of reporting documents by the Ministry of Energy on the state and prospects of energy efficiency measures implemented in the country.
The Energy Charter supported the process of reforming the energy sector of Uzbekistan from the first stages of this large-scale process, always expressed its readiness to share practical experience in the development of relevant regulatory documents, to assist in attracting the necessary experts and specialists.
