Based on the results of the investigative actions and the evidence obtained in the case, on August 3, the investigation made a decision to detain the former Prime Minister of the country Temir Sariev, who was placed in the temporary detention centre of the State Committee for National Security, 24.KG reported.
The investigation found that, being the Minister of Economy and at the same time being the chairman of the relevant state commission, he understated the amount of environmental damage from the operation of the Kumtor mine by several billion soms, as a result of which the state suffered colossal damage,” the ministry said.
It is noted that in the next 48 hours, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek will consider the issue of choosing a preventive measure against the detainee.
