The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold Cobalt-2021 special forces exercises in Tajikistan on November 17-19, the Central Military District (CVD) said.
The exercise will take place from 17 to 19 November at the Fakhrabad training ground. The Russian military contingent in the exercise is represented by servicemen of the special forces unit of the Central Military District and the reconnaissance battalion of the 201st military base, the district’s press service said.
In total, about 60 servicemen and ten units of military equipment, including two Mi-8MTV5-1 helicopters of the 201st military base air group, will be involved in the exercise from the Russian side, the district reported. According to the Russian military, during the active phase of the maneuvers, the operation of blocking and storming a building conditionally seized by the militants will be practiced using technical reconnaissance equipment and helicopters.
