Law enforcement agencies found out who was involved in the creation of fake websites and messages, on behalf of the Ministry of Health and the presidential press service, who offered citizens of Uzbekistan to receive a large amount of money.
The Cybersecurity Center of the Ministry of the Interior took an interest in the messages that appeared on Telegram. Users of groups and channels were offered to receive a lump sum payment of 750,000 soums if they were vaccinated against COVID-19. The link led to a website resembling a Ministry of Health portal. When filling out a form on this site, it was required to enter the details of a bank plastic card and the secret code specified in the SMS notification.
Another announcement on social media claimed that the president signed a law on a one-time payment of material assistance in the amount of 650,000 soums to families with children to improve the socio-demographic situation. In this case, the link led to a site similar to the President’s official portal.
