Georgia in ‘Nations in Transit’ 2021 Report by Freedom House-CIVIL.GE

“Georgia’s democracy score is now close to where it was a decade ago,” says the U.S.-based rights watchdog Freedom House in its “Nations in Transit 2021” report, as the country’s ranking fell from 3.25 to 3.18 out of 7 over the past year, Civil.ge reported.
According to Civil.ge, the report assesses the state of democratic governance in 29 countries in Europe and Eurasia, pertaining to key conditions and developments over the last year. The ratings are based on a scale of 1 to 7, with 1 representing the lowest and 7 the highest level of democratic progress. With its score, Georgia remains in the “transitional government or hybrid regime” category.
