Georgia’s trade deficit at $2.4 bln in first half of 2021-Statistics Office
Georgia’s trade deficit was $2.437 billion in the first half of 2021 compared with $2.047 billion in the same period in 2020 and $1.943 billion in January-May this year, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $6.212 billion, 21.3 percent more than in the first six months of 2020. In January-May 2021 the trade turnover was $5.019 billion.
Exports equalled $1.888 billion, 25.5 percent up from January-June 2020, while imports stood at $4.325 billion, 19.5 percent more than in the same period last year.
The country’s trade deficit in 2020 was $818.6 million, up from $790 million in 2019.
