Georgia’s trade deficit at $3.5 bln in January-August of 2021-Statistics Office
Georgia’s trade deficit was $3.467 billion in January-August 2021 compared with $2.880 billion in the same period in 2020 and $2.934 billion in January-July this year, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $8.678 billion, 22.2 percent more than in the first eight months of 2020. In January-July of 2021, the trade turnover was $7.485 billion.
Exports equalled $2.606 billion, 25.7 percent up from January-August 2020, while imports stood at $6.073 billion, 20.7 percent more than in the same period last year.
The country’s trade deficit in 2020 was $818.6 million, up from $790 million in 2019.
