Georgia’s trade deficit was $446.7 million in January this year, compared with $313.6 million a year earlier, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $1.109 billion, 41.1 percent more than in January 2021.
Exports equalled $331.3 million, 47.6 percent up from the first month of the last year, while imports stood at $778.1 million, 38.5 percent more than a year earlier.
In 2021, the trade deficit was $5.835 billion, compared with $818.6 million a year earlier. The country’s trade turnover totalled $14.319, 25.6 percent more than in 2020. Exports rose by 26.9 percent year-on-year to $4.242 billion, while imports stood at $10.077 billion, 25.1 percent more than a year earlier.
