Georgia’s negative trade balance in January-February 2021 was $664.6 million in comparison with $801.3 million at the same period in 2020, the National Statistics Office said.
The country’s trade turnover totalled $1. 654 billion or 12.0 percent lower than in the first two months in 2020.
Exports equaled to $494.7 million, 6.8 percent down from January-February 2020, while imports stood at $1.159 billion, 14.1 percent lower than at the same period last year.
The country’s main trade partner in the first two months of 2021 was Turkey ($249 million) followed by Russia ($203 million) and China ($194 million). Main exports were copper ores and concentrates, ferro-alloys and motor cars.
The country’s trade deficit in 2020 was $818.6 million, up from $790 million in 2019.
