Germany cannot supply Ukraine with heavy weapons from the stocks of the Bundeswehr.
This was stated by German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht, writes Der Spiegel.
According to her, because of this, Berlin is negotiating with the EU and NATO countries, which can provide Ukraine with Soviet-made heavy weapons.
“We are talking about tanks, about armored personnel carriers, about various options that individual countries can provide. Now we are negotiating, and now it is happening very quickly,” Lambrecht said.
When asked when exactly Ukraine would receive this heavy weaponry, the defense minister replied that it was in the coming days.
“All military experts are confident that the next two weeks will be decisive in the struggle between Ukraine and Russia, and we must support this struggle so that it can be passed, and therefore it goes very quickly,” Lambrecht said.
