The international reserve assets of Belarus as of February 1, 2022, according to preliminary data, amounted to $8,523.8 million in equivalent, BelTA learned from the information and public relations department of the National Bank.
In January 2022, gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by $98.8 million (by 1.2%).
The increase in the level of gold and foreign exchange reserves in January was facilitated by the inflow of foreign currency to the budget, including from the collection of export duties, as well as the purchase of foreign currency by the National Bank at the auctions of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.
At the same time, in January, the government fulfilled external and internal obligations in foreign currency in the amount of almost $360 million.
