“We reckon that today’s decision made by the Latvian parliament to recognize the events of 1915 as ‘genocide’ is an illegal step, Report.az reported.

It is regrettable that this decision was made,” said Kamran Bayramov, head of the Azerbaijani-Latvian working group on interparliamentary relations.

According to him, Armenia is trying to confuse the world community by resorting to historical falsifications and distorting the facts:

There has never been anything called the ‘Armenian genocide’ in history. Historical facts also prove this. How can you evaluate an event that many historical facts and documents have not confirmed?! I want to remind that Armenians had committed genocides against Turks and Azerbaijanis for years. It has been circumcised that Armenians committed the Khojaly genocide. Unfortunately, many countries turn a blind eye to this,” Report.az reported.

The MP believes that unprepared people voted for the resolution on the “Armenian genocide” adopted by the Latvian parliament.
