The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a demographic forecast for a period of 30 years
JSC “Center for the Development of Labor Resources” by order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a long-term demographic forecast for Kazakhstan until 2050, the press service of the department reports. Based on statistical data and modeling, experts believe that by 2030 the labor force will reach 9.7 million people, in 2040 this figure will be 10.7 million, and by 2050 the labor force will grow to 11.4 million.
At the same time, according to the main scenario of the forecast, by 2030 the population of the country will be about 20.7 million. By 2040 this figure will grow to 22.9 million people, and by 2050 – to 25.5 million people.
“According to the forecast, by 2030, due to the high birth rate and aging population, the percentage of the labor force to the population will drop to 46.7%. This means that the burden on the economically active population will grow, ”said Dmitry Shumekov, director of the forecasting department of the MDRTD.
Also, in their forecast, the MDRD experts pointed to the strengthening of the regional imbalance in population by 2050. The largest increase in the number of residents is expected in the cities of republican significance: Nur-Sultan – 2.7 times (1.9 million), Almaty – 1.8 times (1.6 million) and Shymkent – 2.4 times ( by 1.5 million).
