If the nuclear deal is resumed in the coming weeks, and if the U.S. sanctions are lifted, Iran can increase oil supplies by 750 thousand b / d – up to 3.15 million b/d by the end of this year and reach full capacity of 3.8 million b / d by the second half of 2022.
This forecast was made by experts from the International Energy Agency (IEA), TURAN reported.
If that happens, Iran could become the largest generator of oil supply growth in 2022.
Before the introduction of sanctions, Iran produced 3.8-3.9 million barrels of oil, then the sanctions were lifted, but in May 2018, then US President Donald Trump reinstated them, as a result, oil production in Iran fell to 2.4 million barrels, dropped to 1.9 million bpd; in May 2021, the country produced 2.4 million bpd.
